Undergraduate Scholarship Recipient Profiles

 Michael Moore

Michael Moore is a senior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance at North Carolina State University. He is a native of Chicago, Illinois, but completed high school in Fayetteville, NC. During the second semester of his freshman year he became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. Through this organization, he has served in key roles including president, treasurer, and secretary. In his time at NC State, he has also served as a Peer Mentor through the Department of Multicultural Student Affairs, parliamentarian for the African American Student Advisory Council, and as a Community Assistant for University Housing, as well as working part time. Michael will complete his degree in December 2011.

Tova Williams

Tova Williams is Freshman in the First Year College Program from Jacksonville, NC. She is considering Polymer and Color Chemistry as a major. With a 4.0 grade point average, Tova is currently on the University’s Dean’s List. Tova serves as the Freshman Class Representative on the African American Student Advisory Council (AASAC), Usher/Assistant Treasurer at Peers Entering Acceptance towards Christ Eternally (PEACE) church on campus, an active participant in the University Scholars Program (USP) student, and a member of African Student Union (ASU). She was a recent inductee into Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society, a fraternity that focuses on service, scholarship, and character. She has served as a volunteer for Service NC State and as a volunteer referee at the NC Senior Games Racquetball Tournament held at NC State.
