Congratulations to all new graduates, and welcome to all alumni. The rite of passage from student to alumnus/alumna is a major accomplishment. As you reflect on your successes and invaluable experiences, recognize that this transition comes with great, but rewarding, responsibilities. It is our responsibility to positively affect the world by improving our communities.

The Black Alumni Society held its 3rd Annual Black Alumni Society Conference from Friday, March 30, through Saturday, March 31, 2007. The theme of this year’s conference was “50 Years and Counting: Believing, Achieving and Succeeding,” reflective of the golden anniversary of the first African American undergraduates to attend NC State University.

Naimah Jabli-Nash is the 2006-2007 recipient of the Black Alumni Society Undergraduate Scholarship. Ms. Jabil-Nash decided to pursue Textile and Apparel Management at NC State University instead of attending the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
