Alumni Mentor Program (AMP)

Preparing students for success after college.

Many students make the transition from being an undergraduate or graduate student to becoming an alumni. On October 25, 2007, BAS launched a pilot alumni mentoring program to assist students with professional and career development. BAS partnered with Multicultural Student Affairs and the Peer Mentor Program to select students for the pilot.

Mission

The mission of the Alumni Mentor Program (AMP) is to offer undergraduate students an opportunity to develop career direction, build confidence, sharpen professional skills & broaden employment opportunities under the thoughtful and purposeful guidance of experienced professionals.

Purpose

  • Provide support and guidance as undergraduate students determine their career path.
  • Build strong connections within the African American NCSU community, while establishing future relationships amongst black alumni.
  • Assist undergraduates in their understanding of their intended profession.
  • Expose aspiring professionals to a specific field of interest and/or work environment.
  • Develop and enhance communication and other professional skills in undergraduate students.
